Zoos Without Cages
Today, many zoos have a new look. In place of small, cramped cages, designers are building large enclosures that closely resemble the animals’ natural homes, or habitats. Parklike enclosures make life better for the animals by providing them with room to behave naturally. The new settings help people understand the animals better by allowing them to see how the animals would really live in the wild.
